Motion Camera Footage from Grove Court

The Wildlife project at Grove Court continues to deliver for the residents and the animals themselves. The motion-sensitive camera we’ve purchased, which also does night vision as you can see, has produced some fantastic footage even after just a few days in operation. We’ve seen a whole host of species including, Muntjac deer, badgers, foxes and birds of many varieties. The residents have really enjoyed seeing the footage and realising just how much wildlife activity we have around the grounds, here’s hoping there’s lots more to come!

Spring has sprung at Grove Court Copy

Finally, after a long winter, spring has finally arrived here in Suffolk and the gardens have exploded in colour. It’s so nice to see residents using the summerhouse and sitting outside the front of the home again. And best of all the good weather has arrived just in time for us reopening to garden visits.

Red Nose Day 2021 at Grove Court

Our social events team went all out for Red Nose Day this year and with a little help from the kitchen team, providing some lovely baked goodies, we’ve raised over £230!!! Thank you to everyone involved for the wonderful effort and generous donations.

St Patrick’s Day 2021 at Grove Court

Happy St Patrick’s Day! We had an absolute hoot celebrating the occasion. We had Irish music from a singer through a virtual performance. There was an Irish menu for lunch and Irish coffees to follow. As you can see almost all of us found something green to wear and one member of staff even sacrificed a shirt for the day, commitment indeed!

Flower Arranging at Grove Court

We have been having a go at flower arranging recently and the residents have really been enjoying it. It’s a nice way to get creative and welcome in Spring, especially after the long, cold winter we’ve had this year. Better times are on the way!

Wildlife Project Continues at Grove Court

Our wildlife project is really taking shape now as we have set up our “bug hotel” for our ladybirds and nesting boxes for small birds. These are not only ensuring the biodiversity and ecological security of the home for the future, but it ties in with the creative activities the residents have been doing making their contributions even more meaningful.

International Women’s Day 2021 at Grove Court

We are celebrating International Women’s Day this year from our youngest to our oldest, 18 to 101! Having a mainly female workforce means we never need reminding of the constant and profound contribution of women in our workplace and beyond. We celebrate those achievements every day and hope to inspire women everywhere to success and happiness.

World Book Day at Grove Court

We’ve really enjoyed World Book Day here at Grove Court. Residents have been sharing their favourite titles and we’ve even been guessing books from their front covers. We’re lucky to have our very own library within the home. It has been such a great resource for residents, particularly over this last year when reading to alleviate the isolation of lockdown or just for a bit of escapism has been more important than ever.

Clay Animal Painting at Grove Court

Our residents have enjoyed making and painting clay animals this week, especially hedgehogs!

These are part of a long-term wildlife project we’re running within the home and partnering with local organisations. After all, what’s better to bring a smile to your face than a chat and a cup of tea while painting with your friends?
