Amanda Gunner
Our General Manager
Amanda is a registered nurse, specialist practitioner District Nurse, Advanced nurse practitioner and an Independent Prescriber. Her career was mainly in the community working as a District Nurse, Community Matron for Residential and Nursing Homes and as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She has developed new services within the community and received the title of Queens Nurse for development of an ANP led service for Nursing and residential homes assessing the unwell resident, diagnosing and prescribing to prevent unnecessary GP call outs and hospital admissions.
Amanda has worked several years as a home manager improving standards and developing staff to be their best. Recently she has commissioned a new care home but realised there is nothing more rewarding than working in a ‘homely home’. Amanda is proud to make a difference to people’s lives by providing quality person centred care.

Many of our residents lead full and active lives, yet welcome the 24 hour a day security of a professional, personalised care environment and the opportunity to live amongst like-minded individuals from a spectrum of similar professional backgrounds. We believe that residents should retain as much of their independence and mobility as possible and are able to enjoy trips in our specially adapted minibus to places of interest and entertainment, or simply to the local shops.
Whilst Eversfield does not provide nursing care, we can support our residents nursing requirements through the local district nursing service.
Many of our long term residents have previously stayed with us on a short stay basis. There are many reasons for residents choosing a short stay – it maybe that a carer will be away or requires a break for a period of time, or that a resident needs specialised care during a period of post operative recovery. Whatever the reason for your stay, you will be afforded the same high standards of care and assessment as our longer-term residents.
Quality of life is as much a right for those approaching end of life as for everyone else; at Elizabeth Finn Homes we believe that compassionate care can improve the quality of their lives. Sometimes there is a need for care that focuses on the control of pain and symptoms (sometimes referred to as palliative care) and at Eversfield we are able to provide for those who develop terminal illness with the support of community health teams.
