Cliff Hutchings
Our General Manager
My name is Cliff Hutchings and I am the new General Manager.
I have worked in Adult Social Care since the mid 1980’s, starting out as Volunteer, Working my way up into Management from the early 1990’s.
During my career I have worked both within the Public & Private sector, managing services ranging from small group homes for young adults with a physical and/or learning disability, to large Nursing & Residential Homes.
Whilst my background is not in nursing, through my experience of managing nursing homes, I have developed extensive knowledge and understanding around the clinical aspects of care.
I am passionate about supporting older people and providing the highest standards of care that is truly person centred. I believe to achieve this it comes from engaging individuals who’s personal value base is aligned to that of my own and the ethos of Elizabeth Finn Homes Limited.
I am committed to supporting my colleagues to develop themselves both personally & professionally through coaching, mentoring and training, empowering them to be their best as this will then be reflected in the care delivery of the home.
From a personal perspective I fully understand what it is like to entrust a loved one into somebody else cares, having had to make the difficult decision for my mother , so I have a vested interest in getting it right for our residents , as I know what I would like and expect for my mother.

Many of our residents lead full and active lives, yet welcome the 24 hour a day security of a professional, personalised care environment and the opportunity to live amongst like-minded individuals from a spectrum of similar professional backgrounds. We believe that residents should retain as much of their independence and mobility as possible and are able to enjoy trips in our specially adapted minibus to places of interest and entertainment, or simply to the local shops.
As well as maintaining the highest possible standards of personal care, we offer expert nursing care at Rush Court. Working closely with local health care professionals, our fully-qualified nursing staff are able to offer dedicated medical care to our residents, 24 hours a day. Nursing care goes beyond the everyday welfare of our residents to include such things as provision of post-operative care and specific nursing support for chronic and terminal illness.
Many of our long term residents have previously stayed with us on a short stay basis. There are many reasons for residents choosing a short stay – it maybe that a carer will be away or requires a break for a period of time, or that a resident needs specialised care during a period of post operative recovery. Whatever the reason for your stay, you will be afforded the same high standards of care and assessment as our longer-term residents.
Quality of life is as much a right for the terminally ill as for everyone else; at Elizabeth Finn Homes we believe that compassionate care for both the chronically and terminally ill can improve the quality of their lives. At Rush Court we provide for those who are terminally ill, with care that focuses on the control of pain and symptoms (sometimes referred to as palliative care).
