Food Services Assistant – Rush Court – Wallingford

Rush Court Care Home, our 48 bedded dual registered Care Home in Wallingford Oxfordshire, seeks to recruit to the following position:

Food Services Assistant – £9.02 per hour 

35 hrs per week  various shifts including alternate weekends

To assist in the service of meals and beverages to residents and to ensure an efficient service. Serve all food & beverages at the specified times and in the appropriate quantities.  Ensure sound knowledge of the food to be served together with the appropriate garnish.  Assist in the preparation of food as directed e.g. vegetable preparation & sandwiches.  To adhere to all Food Hygiene Health & Safety & COSHH regulations.  Report any complaints or requests raised by residents and advise Senior Care staff/Nurse of any observations of resident difficulties in eating or refusal of meals. To clean & maintain kitchen appliances, surfaces and floors as per cleaning schedule.  To observe the correct use & care of equipment reporting promptly any defects in machinery or materials. To maintain adequate supplies of tea & coffee. To collect & wash dirty crockery & glassware after each serving.  Set tables with condiments, cutlery & napkins etc., ensuring that all items are presented in a clean & attractive manner. To attend in-house training as required.  To carry out instructions accurately, following work schedules laid down within specified time limits.  It is a condition of service that all information obtained during the course of employment, especially with regard to patient’s affairs, is of the utmost confidence. A DBS check will be required.  A uniform will be provided.
