As well as a varied programme of events and outings to places of interest, The Cotswold Home has a varied programme of activities within the Home itself, many of which are supported by our friends - local volunteers who visit and befriend residents.
Particularly popular with our residents are the monthly themed lunches for visitors, friends and families to enjoy ranging from
A trip to the Caribbean
Burns Night Supper
St George’s Day Lunch
The Sky’s the Limit
A Night at the Musicals
Outings include destinations such as a visit to Bradwell Village hall for talks on Ceramics, a trip to Abingdon Crafts Festival or the ever popular theatre outing to nearby Oxford Playhouse. The Cotswold Wildlife Park is nearby and can be reached through our private footpath for days out.
We are proud of our high standard of cuisine and can cater for a wide range of dietary requirements.
Visitors are always welcome at The Cotswold and if residents wish to invite friends or relatives to join them for a meal, we simply ask for prior notice. A small charge is made for guests’ meals. Refreshments are available throughout the day for both residents and guests.
An individual care plan is agreed with a key carer or named nurse and regularly reviewed with the resident and their family if appropriate. Residents are encouraged to live as independently as they wish and staff are on duty 24 hours a day to help in every possible way.
Medical care is undertaken by a local GP. Visits by the GP can be arranged or assistance offered to attend the local surgery.
In addition to long-term care, we offer convalescent, palliative and respite care. If someone is living at home but being cared for by relatives or friends, we can arrange for them to come in for a short stay to give their carers a holiday.
